Research is increasingly focussing on interdisciplinarity. As philosophy and theology enter into dialogue with other disciplines, new interfaces are created that offer numerous opportunities for further scientific development. Feminist perspectives are not only part of the self-image of integrative sciences but are now firmly anchored in discourses in the humanities and social sciences. In recent years, feminist-oriented research projects have also been funded, positions established and disciplines developed in philosophy and theology in the German-speaking world. At the same time, initiatives identified as feminist have repeatedly experienced a socio-politically and religiously motivated backlash, insofar as they have been explicitly or subtly discredited. The series of publications Feminisms. Positions and Perspectives aims to promote the visibility of systematically oriented philosophical and theological monographs and anthologies which, in their elaboration of feminist theses, encourage an epistemologically nuanced and ethically committed formation of judgement and thus strengthen constructively critical contemporaneity.<\/p>\n

The newly founded book series fills a blank spot in the international research landscape. Even though the term “philosophy of economics” has been used since the end of the 19th century, an adequate publication series is still lacking. In future, the “Studies in Philosophy of Economics” series will publish monographs, anthologies, translations and qualification theses that deal with questions of philosophy of economics. Philosophy of economicis is a sub-discipline of practical and theoretical philosophy, which is more comprehensively orientated than business ethics or the theory of economics. The special character of philosophy of economicsis that it combines fundamental and applied questions and treats them from an integrative perspective. Philosophy of economics deals with fundamental questions of economics such as the nature of economic behaviour, the role of markets and institutions, the distribution of resources and the relationship between the economy, state and society. It includes not only normative questions of economics, but also ontological and epistemological questions relating to the models and approaches used, such as the theorem of rational choice, the calculus of utility or the concept of homo oeconomicus. Philosophy of economics also includes treatises that deal with the history of economic thought or the socio-cultural preconditions of capitalism. Last but not least, current topics such as digitalisation, sustainability, post-growth, democracy and work, consumer and corporate responsibility, alternative models of prosperity or the limits of globalisation will be dealt with in the series. Philosophy of economics does not follow any particular school or methodology, but represents an interdisciplinary approach characterised by an open and original reflection on economic processes and theories.<\/p>\n

Dealing with vulnerability and striving for resilience characterise personal, social, political and religious life. At the same time, the potential of vulnerability and resilience for vulnerance \u2013 i.e. their possibly violent nature \u2013 is underestimated or suppressed. People often react to experiences of vulnerability with either vulnerance or with affection, care and solidarity. Resilience, on the other hand, develops in creative processes, but can also be generated by vulnerance and cause harm to others.<\/p>\n

It is the task of interdisciplinary research to analyse the multiple power effects of vulnerability, resilience and vulnerance in their ambivalence and complexity. The bilingual series Vulnerabilit\u00e4t, Vulneranz, Resilienz \/ Vulnerability, Vulnerance, Resilience<\/em> is dedicated to this important, socially relevant task. It analyses the aforementioned processes in relation to areas such as migration, right-wing populism, democracy, climate change, sexuality, gender and many more, and also examines the role of physical and psychological trauma.<\/p>\n

High-quality monographs, university theses and anthologies can be submitted for consideration for inclusion in the series. They can originate from a single subject or be interdisciplinary.<\/p>\n
