Heidegger\u2019s philosophy is interwoven within many different contexts that have been neglected or underexposed in the past debates: the connections with logic, normativity, language, as with the ancient thought, with the scholasticism and late scholasticism, with the classical metaphysics, with the philosophical beginning of the early 20th century (Frege), with Kant and Neo-Kantianism, as well as between his position on the phenomenology of Husserl and his school. This research series is focused upon these connections and upon problems concerning law and political ontology to which many of Heidegger’s works are dedicated. Exceptional monographs (especially dissertations) are in these fields included, whose ambition is to document Heidegger’s research during international conferences and smaller workshops. The aim is to measure Heidegger’s thought in its various constellations and horizons, as well as reintroducing it to systematic philosophical dialogue by presenting its fertility within contemporary philosophy.<\/p>\n

Phenomenology can be regarded as the basic science of subjective experience. It examines its central structures, especially intentionality, corporeality, temporality and intersubjectivity, in order to arrive at insights into the basic forms of human experience in health and illness. Going beyond the subject\/object divide, their attention is focused on the indissoluble connection between subjectivity and experience of the world. For psychiatry, this means that being mentally ill is neither seen as a purely objective event that can be localised in the brain nor attributed to a hidden “inner space” of the psychic. Rather, mental illness manifests itself in experience as well as in bodily appearance and behaviour, in the temporality of life, in relationships to others, in short: in the entire being-in-the-world of the sick person.<\/p>\n

The DGAP series presents research contributions in which phenomenological approaches are further developed in anthropology, psychiatry and psychotherapy.<\/p>\n
